Our beautiful Big Sam passed away on Monday 10th March while participating on a Swiftwater Rescue training course on the wild Snowy River, Ngarigo country. Looking out over the river, he quietly slipped into unconsciousness when blood flow to his heart was blocked. There was nothing his colleagues could have done to revive him. We are deeply grateful for their compassionate and professional response.
Sam was the youngest son of David and Libby Bright, life partner and best friend of Lorraine (Loz) Hunt and the father of four gorgeous children Amber, Jasper, Malakai and Torren. They miss him dearly as do many other souls that he has touched.

His family held a ceremony of respect and love on Saturday March 15th under the guiding moon. A private cremation took place in the Bega Valley, Djiringanj country.
There was a celebration in true Sam style on May 24th at Tanja Lagoon Camp.
